Otaku Anonymous

Otaku Anonymous will meet this Thursday, September 3rd at 7:00 PM in meeting room C at Main Library. The anime will be a SURPRISE! In this instance, “surprise” means “the company from which I requested the anime didn’t get back to me about my request so I’m not sure what we’ll have.”

Twilight Movie in the Library’s Theater

Come join us next week, Wednesday July 29 at 2:00pm in the Main Library’s Theater to watch the Twilight movie.   Tickets are required.  Free tickets can be picked up in Young Adults’ Services or, if any remain, in the lobby of the theater 20 minutes before the start of the show.

“Precious” Trailer – based on the book “Push” by Sapphire

The book “Push” by Sapphire has been made into a feature film starring Gabourey Sidibe, Mo’Nique, Mariah Carey, and Lenny Kravitz.  The film was renamed “Precious” to avoid confusion with the action movie “Push”.   Though it is not set to be released until November 2009, it was recently screened at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival, where it won the Grand Jury Prize and the Audience Award.

Otaku Anon Poll

We’ll be in the Main Library theater (with a movie theater-sized screen) in August, so why not watch an anime or anime-related movie instead of a TV show? Let me know which title you’d most like to watch. I’ll find out if I can get screening permission.
