The new Beyond the Talking Head video.  Make video with us at the new time: fourth Thursday of every month at 5 pm EXCEPT during the summer, when it will be the third Wednesday of June and July at 2 pm.

Edit: Very important: I was misinformed about the origination of this concept, and I’ll try to correct the video soon.  Meanwhile, realize that Katie came up with the idea.

Edit #2: Everyone should realize that the credits come in the MIDDLE of the video, and if you stop with the credits, you will miss out.

Cherry Blossom Festival

The Cherry Blossom Festival will be held at Main Library this Sunday, May 31st from 12:00 until 6:00 PM. Listen to Japanese music, watch dancing, take part in anime drawing, haiku, and crafts. There will even be food for sale. Read all about it here.  –Mari

“Precious” Trailer – based on the book “Push” by Sapphire

The book “Push” by Sapphire has been made into a feature film starring Gabourey Sidibe, Mo’Nique, Mariah Carey, and Lenny Kravitz.  The film was renamed “Precious” to avoid confusion with the action movie “Push”.   Though it is not set to be released until November 2009, it was recently screened at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival, where it won the Grand Jury Prize and the Audience Award.
