Otaku Updates

Remember, there’s no Otaku Anon. meeting at Main on Thursday evening, since the library is closed for New Year’s Day. Instead, we’ll have an afternoon showing of Claymore, episodes 3 & 4 here at Main on Friday, January 2nd at 2pm. Just come to Young Adults’ on the 2nd floor, and we’ll go from there. Let me know in the comments if you are coming.
Also, you can check out the New Haven Anime Club on Saturday, January 10th, at 2pm. They will be watching Ghost Hunt.

How fast can you type? – THE GAME!
This one comes to us by way of Erin. How fast can you type the alphabet? The game is simple. Follow the link, start typing the alphabet and it times you, remembering your high score. Brag in the comments. Note: I have yet to finish this game because I keep hitting “backspace” out of habit when I type the wrong letter which apparently on my laptop also makes my browser “go back” to the previous page. Grrr.

Night Light
I meant to post this yesterday (Sunday) on the winter solstice, which is the darkest day of the year. It was also, however, the coldest and my brain froze over. Sorry.
NOTE: BEST WHEN VIEWED IN THE DARK.
This short film premiered at the ’08 Tribeca Film Festival, then went on to play at Seattle and other fests.
Synopsis: “A man tells the story of how, as a young child, he survived his worst nightmare to overcome his fear of the dark.”
