Young Adults’ Services at Main Library offers research and custom collection services for you and your students. Read on for details.
Library Visits
Young Adults’ Services invites you to bring your class or homeschool to the Main Library. Visits are customized to suit your students’ needs and may include a tour; instruction on how to use the library catalog, database research tools; and/or the Internet; and specific research assistance. We can even reserve study rooms or computers for your group. Call us at 421-1255 to book a visit. Two weeks or more notice is preferred.
Custom Collections
We are also happy to put together custom collections of materials or booklists on topics of your choice. We’ll need to know the age of your student(s) and reading level required, as well as how many and what format of materials you would like. If your student needs recommendations for fiction books to read, it is very helpful if you let us know the name of a book or genre he or she enjoys. If your student dislikes reading, we’ll need some info on his or her other interests so we can find the books most likely to have appeal. Call us at 421-1255 or email ask@acpl.info to request a custom collection or booklist. For this service, we generally need at least one week’s notice.
